The 1st International Conference on Genetic Resources and Biotechnology (ICGRB 2018)

Final announcement

Conference Venue

IPB International Convention Center, Bogor, Indonesia ( Botani Square Building Lt. 2, Jl. Pajajaran Raya, Bogor Tengah, Kota Bogor, Jawa Barat 16127, Indonesia.

Conference Scope

Crop improvement plays an important role in achieving food security and coping with adverse climate changes. Effective crop improvement program requires diverse genetic resources and will benefit from successful cooperation between genetic resource-rich countries and technology-rich countries. Further opportunities will arise from progress in the implementation of international conventions on access of genetic resources and the< benefit sharing arising from their uses, as well as further advancements in science and technology. This conference will discuss ideas, experiences, and research results on the following areas:
    1. Policy, regulation, and intellectual property rights related to plant genetic resources, in particular on access and benefit sharing.
    2. Information system and database management of plant genetic resources.
    3. Application of new techniques for crop improvement such as the use of genomic sequences, genome editing, and synthetic biology.
    4. Bioprospecting and economic valuation of genetic resources.
    5. Traditional knowledge associated with genetic resources.
    6. Sustainable gene bank management and in situ conservation.
